to wit

we´ve been:

taking all-local bus rides. think a minivan packed with 27 (we counted) people in 100 degree weather.

walking, a lot. probably somwhere around 3-5 miles each day. a few hikes to the top of mountains has strung on a few more miles to the total.

practicando espanol (for all you gringos, that means practicing spanish). MUCHO MUCHO MUCHO!

taking pictures and examing our favorite travel rhetoric.

staying with old, verbose couples who bring us calamine lotion in the evening and prepare breakfast in the morning.

spending Valetines day camping on the beach in hammocks. a full moon rising over the ocean and not another person in site. pretty killer.

befriending perros y gatos.

drinking red wine duringthe filet of the day (here it´s somewhere around 6 o´clock).

talking into a small plastic recorder wherever we go. we look fully crazy - cruising through town speaking into our fist - but it´s an essential tool of the job. at night we listen to our observations (some good, some awkward) and write down the ones that are decent.

getting bit by bugs galore. after one night in the hammocks, adam woke up with somewhere around 70 bites covering his back. no joke. a picture will come in the followign days to prove this.

blogging. like never before.
